How to Play
Place the calabash drum securely on the stand.
Hold one mallet in each hand, near the lighter end.
Strike the rounded top surface gently with the mallets.
Try striking different areas of the surface:
Center: deeper, fuller sound
Closer to the edge: sharper, higher sound
Alternate your hands to create a rhythm: Right – Left – Right – Left.
Experiment with different levels of force to create soft and loud beats.
Simple rhythm to start:
R – L – R – R | L – R – L – L
Start slowly, then gradually increase the speed.
